Hello Everyone,

Here is some entertainment for Friday. I recorded a couple of videos 
illustrating skin effect in microstrip line: #2016_01 and #2016_02 at 
http://www.simberian.com/ScreenCasts.php. This is dynamic versions of app note 
#2015_01 from http://www.simberian.com/AppNotes.php 
I will appreciate any feedback on that and what fields and effects for what 
interconnect structures would be also interesting to see.

Hi Robert and Everyone, 

I just uploaded another "entertaining" video with the visualization of surface 
and volumetric current density, surface electric field and surface power flow 
for strip line with different conductor roughness parameters on top and bottom 
of strip and planes - it is #2016_07 at 
http://www.simberian.com/ScreenCasts.php (higher quality, but may be slow),

I explained the approach with the Roughness Correction Coefficients in the 
first part, and illustrated it with computation of the fields in the second 
"fun" part. 
As you can see, the roughness actually leads to substantial increase in 
tangential electric fields and in the current densities on surfaces as the 
result. I think this is the first "visualization" of such effect. Note that all 
results are actual 3D EM computations, not just illustrations.
Previously at #20`6_04 (or at https://youtu.be/mx3_H0olIf8) I have investigated 
"less known" Effective Roughness Dielectric model, that does not predict the 
current re-distribution. I think it may be used only for some portion of the 
"rough" layer, were there is no connectivity between the particles of the 
conductor.

skin effect
like the way you showed. I am going to cancel all my Friday evening regular

illustrating skin effect in microstrip line: #2016_01 and #2016_02 at

I will appreciate any feedback on that and what fields and effects for what 
interconnect structures would be also interesting to see.
